The Rise, Part 3Eventually we exited the wilderness, and immediately the smell of death was rife. We had to be getting close. No one would say that inside they were terrified, but we could hear it in each others voice chatter. The foliage had given way to a quiet suburban street. By now of course, the occupants of these houses were gone. Blood lined the streets, and occasionally we followed it to a corpse. Worried it may rise, Richards had us decapitate them. The only means of preventing the rise as it was now called. We came to a few cars, mostly empty, until the one that finally made the seriousness of the situation sink in to everyone. &The Rise, Part 3

Alone part 5, Re-draftedAs the doors slid out of the way, I was suddenly hit in the face by a draft of cool air, a change of tone from the smell of decay that I was beginning to become accustomed too. Ahead of me was simply a long dark road, an underground tunnel that would take me to the surface. I ran.Alone part 5, Re-drafted
The road was completely empty, and even the citizens didn't know that it was there. Eventually I came to the surface, emerging in an abandoned industrial park and once again the stench of decay hit me in the face. I was screwed. Nowhere to go and no clue if anyone had the antivirus. I needed it. Now.
I began to come out in a fever. Knowing

Alone part 4, Re-draftedSitting there in that cold, dark room by myself boredom and curiosity began to get the better of me. I had no idea how to open the door but I wanted out. I had satisfied my hunger and thirst and I was safe but I had to get out of there to see what had become of the place that I once called home. I was gonna die anyway, it was only a matter of time. Alone part 3, Re-draftedI ran as fast as I could through the deserted hallways looking for anyone but there was no-one. I got back to the dorms and looked about. Still no one. I got on my knees and began rummaging below my bunk for all my stuff and an old rucksack. I was just finishing when I heard a faint groan behind me. I shimmied around and was faced with the glazed over eyes of a young intern. He stunk of year old fruit. I knew what he was. The result of the virus.Alone part 3, Re-drafted
I got up as fast as I could and began to back away slowly but he lunged forward with speed like nothing I've seen. I know just how angry they are. Last time I saw one of these "zom

| Wannabe novelist with a sick, twisted mind. Couple that with hyperactivity disorders and access to the internet, and you're onto a winner. I like zombies far too much. Ironic that both my biggest fear and biggest obsession should be the same, eh? Like to listen to and make music, and occasionally skate. |
